Frequently Asked Questions
-
There are no up-front fees at all. No fixed fees either. Our fees are all performance-based. A typical fee structure would be based on profit-sharing, but we can adjust this as appropriate in each case. Sometimes revenue sharing or other structures are more suitable.

If you're a fit for the programme we can get started straight away. Within a few weeks we can be fully operational and you can be almost completely "out".
It takes a little longer to fully upskill our customer service team (especially where your products are require technical knowledge) - the timeframe for this varies. Depending on your business there can be other elements that take a little longer to hand over also. But the principle is that you can be 80-90% "out" straight away, and 100% "out" shortly after.
Compare this to selling your business, which takes several months of preparation and marketing, then (if a suitable buyer is found) several months of due diligence. THEN the buyer will usually require you to stay on for a handover period of between 3 months and 2 years. -
Yes, we can take over that too. It takes longer and for clients with products that require a lot of technical knowledge, this is the last element of the business that is fully handed-over.

Yes. If you want to sell your business but you would prefer to approach the sale strategically, waiting for the market to improve before selling, the Passive Exit is the perfect solution. You can move on to other things immediately, let the business run under management, then when the time is right to go to market, sell it.

Hahnbeck is an M&A advisory firm (investment bank). We help consumer brand owners to achieve strategic exits for maximum value.
In the Passive Exit programme, Hahnbeck's role is an advisory one. We speak to business owners who are considering the programme, or have been having trouble selling their businesses and don't know why. We help them to understand whether their business is saleable and what their options are, based on real knowledge of the M&A market for consumer product brands. We help brand owners to decide if the Passive Exit programme might be a fit for them.
For Amazon sellers who join the programme, Hahnbeck provides ongoing M&A advisory support, regular updates on market conditions, and more. -
Yes, that's right.
Hahnbeck advises clients in the consumer products sector on the ideal strategy for selling their brands for maximum value. We help business owners to sell for the best price and terms.
If your brand is saleable in the current market, we'll tell you. If it could become saleable in the current market with some key improvements, we'll tell you. Both of these are in our interest as well as yours.
As professionals, we give honest advice. If your business is not saleable in the current market and would not realistically become saleable (for a worthwhile valuation) in any reasonable timeframe, we will tell you.
If you've tried to sell already and haven't been able to sell, we'll analyse your business and help you to understand why. If it could sell with some key improvements, we'll explain these to you. If it would not sell, we'll explain why. This can be very interesting and helpful information if you've been wondering why the sale process has not been going well.
From there, you can decide what to do next. But you will be making an informed decision based on a real understanding of the market.
At Hahnbeck we're glad that this solution for Amazon sellers exists. There is nothing like it for the owners of other businesses. Amazon brand owners have this great alternative option if they can't (or don't want to) sell in the current market.
